STEP 1: Make your dog sit and grab a treat. After showing your dog the treat, hide it in your locked fist.
STEP 2: Hold out your hand with the treat at the chest level of your dog, palm up. When your dog paws at your hand to get the treat, praise and reward it. Now repeat these steps until your dog understands the drill.
STEP 3: Repeat the same procedure as above but now do so without a treat in your fist. As soon as your dog paws at your hand praise and reward it.
STEP 4: As soon as your dog gets the hang of the drill, you can add the word “shake” just before you put out your hand. Your dog has successfully learned how to shake!
STEP 1: Hold a treat in your fist at your dog’s chest level making them paw at it.
STEP 2: When they do that use your clicker to mark the action or use a word like “yes”. Then reward and praise your dog.
STEP 3: Repeat these steps for some time then start marking the action by using the words “high five”.
STEP 4: After you feel like your dog has mastered it, switch your fist with an open palm and meet your dog’s paw. Repeat!
STEP 1: Take some treats.
STEP 2: Make your dog be seated in front of you.
STEP 3: Get their attention and toss the treat their way.
STEP 4: If your dog doesn't catch pick the treat and try again. Then you can also use the words like “catch”.
STEP 1: Put the leash on the floor and ask your dog to pick it up. Praise and Reward him when he does so.
